Streamlining museum workflows

How three of Scandinavia's biggest museums ensure full control of digital collections

Live on Thursday, the 26th of September, at 10.00 CEST

In today’s fast-paced climate, galleries and museums worldwide struggle to adapt their archives to facilitate effective management and distribution of content items. Typical challenges include over-complicated folder structures, slow publication processes, and an overall lack of control.

In our upcoming webinar, you’ll gain insights from three of Scandinavia’s biggest museums about how they’ve worked to enhance their digital ecosystem, facilitating an effective flow of digital assets, from ingestion to publication – all while keeping the collections tidy.

The Munch Museum

Starting with the Munch Museum, you’ll hear from Florence Froidevaux about how they’ve built an integrated content hub where every painting, drawing, picture or marketing asset is stored and managed – ensuring that every file is easily available to the right people when needed.

She’ll also share insights into how the museum’s photographers streamline their pre-ingestion workflows, and how integrations with third parties enable automatic flows of data across systems.

The Historical Museums of Sweden

Then, Digital Asset Manager at the National Historical Museums of Sweden (Statens historiska museer), Rikard Nordström, will explain how their system allows for seamless collaboration between six different museums.

Rikard works at the Department of Operational Support/IT and has extensive experience in Digital Asset Management. He will share key insights into how his organization use DAM to structure digital collections for effective management, distribution and tracking.

The Norwegian National Museum

Lastly, you’ll get an introduction to how the Norwegian National Museum (Nasjonalmuseet) handles their impressive collection of thousands of digital content items.

DAM specialist, Petter Lundberg, will take you through their photography workflow from start to finish –  explaining how the museum handles image requests and streamlines distribution of media files.

Who should attend?

This webinar is tailored towards the GLAM (Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums) segment, and is ideal for exhibition managers, communication teams, object & artifact photographers and IT professionals handling the technical infrastructure of museums and archives.
